Navélia Yacht Charters

overview

The Italian Riviera stretches from the French border near Ventimiglia to Tuscany, with Genoa as its cultural hub. This enchanting coastline is world-renowned for its pastel-painted seaside towns, historic harbors, and rugged cliffs tumbling into the Ligurian Sea. From the chic sophistication of Portofino to the rustic charm of Cinque Terre, the Riviera offers an authentic Italian experience where culture, gastronomy, and natural beauty converge. Perfect for yacht charters, the Italian Riviera delivers a slower pace of life compared to its French counterpart, yet maintains the same allure of luxury and elegance.

experiences await

Seaside Dining & Cuisine

Food is at the heart of the Italian Riviera. Guests can enjoy freshly caught seafood, handmade pastas, and the region’s world-famous pesto alla Genovese, often served with trofie pasta. Dining by the sea in Portofino or Monterosso is an experience that combines exquisite cuisine with breathtaking views. Local wines, such as Pigato and Vermentino, pair beautifully with Mediterranean dishes, offering a complete culinary journey.

Exploring Villages

The Italian Riviera is dotted with towns that each tell a story. The five cliffside villages of Cinque Terre (Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore) are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, famed for their colorful facades and dramatic coastal views. Portofino enchants with its luxury boutiques and iconic harbor, while Santa Margherita Ligure offers a more laid-back elegance with its palm-lined promenades. Wandering these villages allows visitors to immerse themselves in authentic Italian charm.

Sailing & Coastal Cruising

A yacht charter along the Italian Riviera is the best way to uncover hidden gems along the rugged Ligurian coastline. Secluded coves, sheltered anchorages, and quiet beaches are often accessible only by boat. Cruising between Cinque Terre and Portofino offers a blend of adventure and tranquility, with endless opportunities to swim, sunbathe, or explore coastal hiking trails.

islands to explore

Palmaria

Directly opposite Portovenere, Palmaria is the largest island in the Ligurian archipelago and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its rugged landscapes feature hiking trails, cliffs, and secluded beaches. Palmaria is an excellent stop for yacht charters, offering swimming, snorkeling, and panoramic views of Cinque Terre and Portovenere.

Tino

A smaller island near Palmaria, Tino is largely a military zone but opens to visitors on special occasions, such as the feast day of Saint Venerio. From the water, yachts can admire its rugged beauty, lighthouse, and ancient monastic ruins. Anchoring nearby offers guests a glimpse into its history while enjoying the crystal-clear waters.

Tinetto

The smallest of the Portovenere archipelago, Tinetto is an uninhabited rocky islet with remnants of early Christian chapels. Though simple in size, its serenity and surrounding turquoise waters make it a popular anchorage for yachts seeking privacy and a chance to swim in peace.

Gallinara

Located near Albenga, Gallinara Island is famous for its turtle-like shape and as a protected nature reserve. Covered in Mediterranean flora, it serves as a sanctuary for seabirds. While landing is restricted, yachts can anchor nearby to enjoy swimming and snorkeling in its pristine waters.

Bergeggi Island

Off the coast of Savona, Bergeggi Island is part of a marine protected area. The island is known for its caves, such as the Grotta Marina, and rich marine biodiversity, making it a top destination for diving. Anchoring here allows guests to experience underwater adventures or simply relax in a natural, unspoiled setting.
